Founded in 2010, the Atlanta Music Project provides intensive, tuition-free music education for underserved youth right in their neighborhood. Currently in its 7th year, AMP serves 250 students at five sites. AMP's programs include the AMP Orchestra, Amplify, the choral program of AMP; and the AMP Academy for AMP's most talented and dedicated students.
AMP students rehearse for 2 hours a day, five days a week and perform in ore than 30 concerts a year. Volunteers are invited to help with concert logistics, stage management and child management during performances. Volunteers with extensive music experience can participates in AMP's music mentor program, in which they mentor students by singing or playing side-by-side with students during regular rehearsals.
